Ruth’s old fashioned sugar cream pie

June 19, 2009

Ruth (Lively) Heinzman (Born 1905 Died 1986) was the wife of Leo Glen Heinzman. This was a delicious pie that brings back fond memories to those who got to experience it.

Ingredients

Half a cup of brown sugar

Half a cup of granulated sugar

One third a cup of flour

One fourth teaspoon of salt

One and three fourths cup of fresh cream

One fourth teaspoon of nutmeg

Steps

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Warm cream on stove, just until its warm and be careful not to scorch.

Add warm cream to the sugar, flour, and salt: mix well in a bowl

Pour mixture into eight inch prepared pie shell/crust

Sprinkle nutmeg on top

Bake for approximately one hour.

When you remove it from the oven it will probably still be runny but will set up as it cools down.
